Spotify in Estonia

Quick update for those who live in Estonia, love Spotify but could not use it due to the fact that service was not available officially in Eesti. As of middle of April 2013 Spotify has entered Estonian market. Now, going to spotify.com from any place in Estonia you will be able to register and download the setup file as well as buy Unlimited or Premium subscriptions.

Another good news is that the cost of both Unlimited and Premium is lower than lets say in Sweden or UK. For unlimited, which offers no ads, good quality of music you will pay 3.59 EUR per month and for Premium which in addition to no advertisement and good quality will offer you to use software on your mobile and tablet as well as to keep some music that you want in off-line mode is 6.99 EUR.

In comparison, for same subscription in Sweden you would pay 5 to 10 EUR.

MUSE is giving 2 concerts in London this October

MUSE, famous English rock band is releasing its new album “2nd Law” this October. Together with the new album the band starts its European tour. As I wrote few weeks ago here, MUSE will perform in many capitals around Europe, they had also done presale of limited number of tickets on their official website when the lucky ones (or better to say – fastest ones) could get their tickets few days before the official open sale date.

MUSE 2nd Law official album cover

MUSE is famous for its extravagant stage performance as well as fusion of many genders of music starting from alternative rock which I think is their main gender to space rock and classical music. One of the best performance no doubt will be done in London. This year they give 2 concerts in English capital, one of the 26th of October following one on the 27th.

Most expensive hotel in France

Surprisingly (or maybe not) the most expensive hotel suite in France is located not in its capital – Paris, but in Cannes, which apparently at some point can be even more expensive than the most expensive city in Europe – Paris.

Penthouse Suite, Hotel Martinez

Cannes is famous for its movie festival, amazing sea-views and restaurants. So, in case you are tired of your private yacht and finally want a bigger size bed make sure you stop in Cannes at Hotel Martinez in its Penthouse suite apartment.

Penthouse at Martinez is around 450 square meters, has 2 bedrooms in case you bring your mother in law, two bathrooms, a shower room and a private SPA bath with sauna. As you want to keep a close eye on your yacht parked outside the hotel there is a 190 square meter terrace from which you can also enjoy view to the Bay of Cannes. Your private butler makes sure you have fast internet connection (free of charge), plasma TV and fax.

Marsovin wine festival, Malta

Marsovin, one of the biggest wine producers in Malta made another great (as I assume) wine festival this year in upper gardens in Valletta.

From 13th to 15th of June Marsovin opened its wine degustation festival. “Doors” of the upper gardens were opened from 8pm in the evening until 1am at night. Festival was just great. For 10 EUR you got a wine glass which you could take with you back home and 14 tokens, which you could exchange for a taster, glass of whole bottle of wine.

It was a bit hard to find the upper gardens at first as it seems that in Valletta there are two upper gardens. Wine festival took place in one which is very close to main bus station. If you take main road from bus station up to Valletta, first turn left and another first turn left.

There were many wine stands where you could exchange your tokens for delicious Maltese red, white or rose wines. Different stands were offering wines from different class; ranging from very affordable to quite expensive. Taster prices varied from 1 to 4 tokens, glass of wine from 2 to 8 tokens and bottle prices from 10 to 24 tokes.

Most expensive hotel in Moscow

I have already written 2 short news updates about most expensive hotel in NYC (this short post gets quite some traffic, btw) and Hong Kong. Now it is time for Mother Russia to show what it has to offer for those of us who likes to stay hi-end.

Credits: Ritz-Carlton Suite Moscow

Well, it is easy to guess, where you can spend huge amount of money in Russia and do it very fast. Correct, you go to Moscow. Ritz-Carlton will offer you a cozy stay at their Ritz-Carlton suite in the Russian capital. The glass-wall windows of this magnificent and just very nice room will provide you with a great view of Kremlin, Red Square and Christ the Savor Cathedral.

In case you have extra backpack or two – do not worry, a 230 meters suite will have just enough of that extra space you often need for your stuff. Your room is also equipped with separate dining area, library, personal office space (for writing postcards) and grand piano in case you get that Russian mood and want to tap “Kalinka-Kalinka”.

PADI open water diving course (OW)

For a newbie who wants to try out SCUBA diving and then get a PADI license it can become a bit complicated with all the procedures and possible next steps after passing Discover Scuba diving half-day course.

This course consist of theory (reading course book), watching 5 videos which cover all the aspects of SCUBA diving for beginners and to do 4 open water dives + 1 pool dive. If you have already done discover dive then in many cases it will be counted towards your PADI course. This means that you will need to do only 4 open water dives (no pool) and it might also decrease the price of the course.

For OW be prepared to pay from 400 to 500 EUR + 45 EUR for the course book. Price includes diving-gear, instructor and diving log-book. Thing is that you can find the course book online in PDF and read it at home. The only reason why you might end up actually buying it is if your instructor will demand five (5) knowledge review tests from the actual, original book.
